hi jerome,

i've never tried k12ltsp (although i've been wanting to), but i've had some
success running audio via esd on the clients with ltsp3-rh9. i would suggest
you try the ff:

1. check if the sound card is properly recognized on the client (i.e., at
runlevel 3, do an lsmod)
2. make sure that the sound daemon is running locally on the client (check
your lts.conf for this, and also check if the client's bin has esd or nasd).
some people say that esd sometimes works where nasd doesn't (and vice-versa) so
maybe you could try switching daemons. running sound locally makes everything
easier (although we also had some workarounds running esd on the server and
having sound through the clients).

btw, my current h/w config has a SiS chipset which is not automatically
recognized (but is recognized by i810_audio).

hope this helps,
marga
