Sorry, don't know for nautilus, but I've found a wonderfull filemanager - XFE. It's very light and fast and looks very similar to the windows-explorer. There is a global config (/usr/local/libs/fox/Desktop) you can edit for _all_ users like you want. In my opinion it's for LTSP very much better than konqueror and nautilus (they're to big) - well konqueror you can edit in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kioslaverrc and .../konquerorrc > ie. if they click on a doc file I would like it to open OpenOffice That's no problem with XFE.
