I have a problem where after a certain amount of time. The X server dies for lack of memory. I was running OpenOffice, Mozilla, terminal, and Evolution when it occurs. In addition, if I do a lot of cut and paste, the stability of the system becomes more fragile and many times either crashes the application (particularly with OpenOffice) or the entire X display dies. I looked at the logs and I saw on the thin client at least the X has run out of memory. This happens even with NFS_SWAP enable although it took longer for the X to crash but before it does, the LTSP slows down considerably.
The thin client specs is a Pentium II 400 with 64MB of RAM and the LTSP server specs is a Dual Xeon 2.4GHz with 4GB of memory and the server runs on a 1GB network switch. I am wonder how could X crash on 64MB of RAM and with/without 64MB of swap when it is not doing much at all. Any assistances would be appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
