I had the same errors with SuSE9.0, LTSP4.0, KDE and XFree86 3.3.6 (S3) on the clientside. Switching from KDM to XDM I could login, but every app would crash with SIGSEGV. Switching to XFree4 (conf: XSERVER="s3") solved this, but I´m still not sure what part is causing this behaviour.
