Hello list, I´ve run into the previously discussed problem resulting in the following hang on the client:
Mouting root file system /opt/ltsp/i386 from 192.168.0.10 Doing the pivot_root nfs: server 192.168.0.10 not responding, still trying [client hangs forever now] This only happens when I connect the client with a 10MBit card to the Server with a 100 MBit card through a 10/100 MBit - Switch (8 ports, Allnet Switch). If either connecting Server-Client directly with a crosspatch cable or using a 10MBit card in the server (tested with my laptop using a 10MBit CNet-Card) or upgrading the client with a 100MBit card (tried cheap rtl8139-based) the problem is gone. Maybe even another switch could solve the problem. Now I wanted to ask if there is a software solution to this problem. Maybe some config option for the nfs-server? I mean the network stuff does work when booting the client with a locally installed operating system, I only run into this problem during the doing the pivot_root stage in booting the client in ltsp client-mode. Maybe this would also be worth mentioning in the FAQ, as I don´t seem to be the only one affected. -- Mit freundlichen Grüssen André Sänger mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
