Hi!

I'm trying to connect to an remote desktop server using ltsp-4.1 beta (but,
with 2.4.24-ltsp-4).

lts.conf entry:
       SCREEN_01          = rdesktop -f my.server.net

I get the screen telling me to Press <enter> to Login.
After that, X starts throwing out the ordinary text, and for one fraction of
a second i see the gray screen with X-cursor.
It disappears and I see the message:
   ERROR: connect: Connection refused
waiting for X server to shut down
   Scanning for video card
   Building the /tmp/XF86Config-4 file

I then return to the Press <enter> to Login screen.

First i thought that there was something wrong with my windows box, but:
If i from a shell on the client type:
export DISPLAY=my.server.net (meaning that i have X-win32 running on the
windows box)
   rdesktop my.server.net
This will give me the login screen to the RDP server.
That excludes the possibility that the server is misconfigured.
Also, i've let a friend on another linux box try connecting to it, and he
succeeds aswell.

BTW, I have upgraded to the latest rdesktop package TODAY.

Is there any other test i can do? Can i give X an argument to start rdesktop
directly?

Thanks!

If you look inside the /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/screen.d directory, you will find the shell scripts that are called for each SCREEN type. rdesktop is the shell script that is executed for SCREEN_XX = rdesktop. Look inside this script or modify to see what the actual rdesktop command being invoked looks like at the workstation. It might be that there are extra options you are not using that are confusing rdesktop.
