I am using the '4GB' kernel (2.4.22-37mdk-i686i-up-4GB) on a Mandrake 9.2 server with no problems (of course, I am only running 1.5GB RAM on a single processor).
As the other poster said, you shouldn't have to re-install LTSP after a kernel upgrade. I have upgraded my kernel several times without incident. John P.
