I've got IDE Zip drives working on the LTSP clients. The tricky part was coping with devfs.
Standard vfat zip disks have a MSDOS partition table with the main data in partition #4. Initially, I set the device to /dev/hdc4. However, this doesn't work because devfs doesn't create hdc4 until a zip disk is inserted into the drive. The solution is to copy the relevant /dev/hd?4 devices into /dev-zip in the LTSP tree and use these pre-created devices instead of the devfs devices. -- A new cognitive theory of emotion, http://openheartlogic.org
