Thanks Veerapuram,

I am now able to boot but cannot bring up the X-login
screen.  I get past it if i set the 'SCREEN_01' to
shell, i can see:

Inside of /etc/screen.d/shell
tty= /dev/vc/1
bash-2.05b#

But when 'SCREEN_01' is set to startx, it goes blank.

Any suggestions and help is higly appreciated.
