Never used auto login but I would have thought $DISPLAY should be available wherever you set which user is set to login and after checking gdm docs this is true.Hai all,
I am using ltsp4.1 with RedHat Linux 9 and its working so nice (Local Device (FDD CDD), Sound.. with good performance. Now i just want to know is there any auto login facility in ltsp4.1. I want to assign a default user for each machine. That mean... in ws001 client the user user01 must login automatically and in ws002 client the user02 must login so on.
with GDM setup i try autologin but with that i can login same user in all machine, so it will create some problem while running some application
If any one have any idea please ...
thank you in advance,
robinboby.
set
AutomaticLogin=%h
in gdm.conf should do the trick. ie client ws001 will auto login as ws001 you may be able to get exactly what yo want but I can't see how quickly. But its a good starting point.
I find it a good idea when getting things to work in LTSP is to work out which bit I'm dealling with and then check what docs are available for that part.
