/var/log/messages shows:

Dec  3 13:23:26 lucy rpc.mountd: authenticated mount request from
pub02.kisosks:657 for /opt/ltsp/i386 (/opt/ltsp)

It looks like it did mount correctly. I think the problem is with the
chroot. 

Sorry, I forgot to mail my response to Jim's question to the list. Jim,
