Jim:

Basically here is what I've done, to turn KDM on, in Slackware 10. I use KDM so that I can handle automatic password logins.

/etc/inittab: needs to be set to runlevel of 4.

/etc/rc.d/rc.4: the display manager you want to use needs to be the first one listed. If I remember right, GDM was first, then KDM is listed second, then finally Slack will try XDM if neither of the other two are available on the system. I comment out GDM and XDM, and move KDM to be the first one listed in this file.

The KDMRC file that I have to edit for actual changes to work for KDM is located at: /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc

I think thats it. I dunno how easily this could be setup for your ltspcfg script to handle -- but if it could be done, it'd be a great addition. LTSP works GREAT on Slackware... Slackware is a great stable distribution for a server, I'm up to four now. :)

Hope this helps!

Mohsen,

The ltspcfg doesn't know how to configure the display managers on Slack
10. You'll have to do that manually.

Then, if you can tell us what steps you took, we can add that
functionality to ltspcfg.
