Greetings,
I know this is a dumb question, but - er - I want my terminal users to be able to run Firefox ... and thats it. Well, maybe a PDF viewer...
I gather IceWm or something like that is used, but how do I restrict users to running just what i want them to run?
Don Robertson
The easy way is sticking to Ice and destroying the menu except for the Logout menus and a Firefox command. Other Window Managers could do well; I believe that XFCE has a Kiosk mode that would suit you well, but I've never used it so I'm not certain.
The longer but more secure way would be changing the permissions on just about every other command on your system.
