Today I've checked again...
On the client I see a message about a DHCP search... then someother
quick messages... they're so quickly I can't read them.
This is the syslog while the client start the PXE boot:
Feb 28 10:11:05 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:04:75:99:fb:61 via eth0
Feb 28 10:11:05 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.1.1 to
00:04:75:99:fb:61 via eth0
Feb 28 10:11:07 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.1.1 from
00:04:75:99:fb:61 via eth0
Feb 28 10:11:07 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.1.1 to
00:04:75:99:fb:61 via eth0
Feb 28 10:11:07 prometeo in.tftpd[7224]: connect from 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1)
Feb 28 10:11:07 prometeo tftpd[7225]: tftpd: trying to get file:
/tftpboot/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.26-ltsp-2
Feb 28 10:11:07 prometeo in.tftpd[7226]: connect from 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1)
Feb 28 10:11:07 prometeo tftpd[7227]: tftpd: trying to get file:
/tftpboot/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.26-ltsp-2
Feb 28 10:11:29 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.1.1 from
00:04:75:99:fb:61 via eth0
Feb 28 10:11:29 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.1.1 to
00:04:75:99:fb:61 via eth0
Feb 28 10:11:42 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPINFORM from 192.168.1.1
Feb 28 10:11:45 prometeo dhcpd: DHCPINFORM from 192.168.1.1

and this is the netstat TFTP lookout:
netstat -anp | grep ":69"
udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:69 0.0.0.0:*
        5633/inetd

I repeat, this terminal server was working fine. Then the school has
changes the PCs and the NIC is passed from a RTL 8139 to that 3COM
Tornado... with PXE... a thing I've never used...
thanks for the suggestions
