Are you using Etherboot ?

If you are using PXE, then you need to specify NIC=tg3 in the pxe config
file.

Assuming you are using the standard 2.4.26-ltsp-2 kernel, the
file is:

   /tftpboot/lts/2.4.26-ltsp-2/pxelinux.cfg/default

You can put the NIC=tg3 on the end of the 'append' line.
