There's been some talk about Icewmbg consuming way more CPU than it
should

There's a bug that was fixed in icewm 1.2.18pre1.  I'm not sure what
version of icewm is shipping is shipping with Fedora-3.

you can edit your /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/IceWM file to tell it to run
'icewm' instead of 'icewm-session', and that should help your
performance problem.
