Mandar,
Check out using ident with squid. It will log which user is making the request and there is no client-side set up required.

Hi,
Till we implemented LTSP in our office, we were able to pinpoint the
Intenet bandwidth hoggers using the squid logs. But since we
implemented LTSP this has become a difficult task, as the requests
originate from the ltsp server itself.
The squid logs show only the ltsp server ip. We have squid installed
in a transperant proxy mode and dont wish to go for the authentication
mechanism.
Can anyone suggest as to how to find out the bandwidth hoggers in the
ltsp environment
