You need to make a little hack to the rc.usb script.

For some reason, the 4.1 script (and possibly previous versions) doesn't
load the right USB modules.

Either hack the script if you have lots of these thin clients, or
manually load the correct USB modules with a MODULES_## line - you'll
need to do the same for keyboard, mouse and sound in my experience.

The modules themselves were in the tar I got from Karl - they're also
available here:
