I have a Term 150e at home... my wife uses it in the office. Well, yesterday we had a brief power outage. Now, the 150e won't boot. It starts up just stays at "searching for DHCP server"... I've verified that an actual IP address is being offered (both server dhcpd logs and tcpdump), but the 150e never acknowledges/accepts and moves on. It's not a problem with the server... I swapped in a homebrew VIA as a replacement, works fine, using PXE.
Any ideas? Options? I wondered if the Bootrom is messed up... could try a flash disk to boot. Can't seem to get into the 150e's BIOS and poke around, but I think Etherboot is my option, right? Can't remove teh bootrom and have it use PXE? It just doesnt' seem like a paperweight yet, I'd like to try try salvage... I have a kid who will be using a computer soonish, so I want to be able to use/revive this for him, if I can.
