I am wondering if anyone knows about a package similar to "write". I

Basically the same as Windows command "net send".
Does anyone know?
Today I was just looking for the same. I found two possibilities, but
I am still working out the details.
1. According to Henry Burrough, KDE's kwrited should work, but for me,
no message appears.

2. Another possibility running xmessage as root. The trick is
configuring access correctly because typically the X server denies
access. Using "xhost +" allows access from anyone, but it may be a
security risk. Also, xmessage is inconvenient to use for sending message.
