Hmmm... I see there are no drivers built into the pps ltsp root filesystem. That would present a problem for doing it easily, eh?

There must be drivers from YDL that could be put into place. I think I have a FW drive around here somewhere with a YDL installation on it. Maybe I can work with that and see if I can get sound working on the terminal.

My other question is: How do I stop the terminal from playing its audio out the main sound system on the server (which plays to my desk...)? I thought SOUND=Y with no valid driver would just squelch sound altogether, but apparently not...

Or do I perhaps have something misconfigured on my system? Or maybe LTSP isn't really intended to have someone running X and Audio on the console, but only on terminals?

Thanks!

I just set up a ppc terminal for my new gentoo LTSP system.

I used the HOWTO at:

http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/CpuArchitectures#LTSP_on_Latter_Day_Macintosh_G3

to set it up and that worked fine.uck

I have esound installed on my server, but have not changed the default configuration.

When I boot my PPC terminal and log in to KDE, I get audio, but it all comes out the server's sound card.

If I set SOUND = Y, I get complaints at boot that I have chosen the wrong driver. I get this whether I choose esd or nasd as the driver (esd should work).

Anyone have hints as to the problem. Might the problem be because I have the esound daemon running on the server with a console on it, and *it* is getting all the networked audio?

Thanks!
