I am setting up a network with about 100 terminals in a school of about 400 students. I am going to try to setup the terminals to use USB memory sticks as a local media. As I read the LocalMedia page http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/LocalMedia and how it describes using Samba I have to ask the question, why Samba and why not sshfs?

I think Samba could cause some security problems that would be solved by sshfs. Has anyone done LocalMeda using sshfs yet? How well does it work with terminals?
I have used sshfs before but not with terminals. I like it and I think it is worth a look.
