Background - have two PCs in basement, one is LTSP server (for just 1 terminal), one is running MythTV (in a nutshell, an open-source TiVo). I would like to combine them, basically move LTSP onto Myth box (it has beefier hardware anyway). My main concern is about sound/ESD - basically, the Myth box has 1 sound card, along with a TV capture card, and Myth needs that sound card all to itself (input of cable-signal audio, output to TV). So, I would need to add a 2nd sound card, and make sure that ESD only uses that card. Problems foreseen? ESD is not wonderfully documented, and although there seems to be some indication that you can (in the esd.conf) point to a specific card, just messing around with it, I could not get the right syntax. Could also start ESD daemon with a specific card, I suppose. Anyway, looking for suggestions or gotchas or "I've done that".
Thanks, Greg PS - doing my homework, since my wife is a big user of the LTSP terminal, so I don't want to screw it up ;) ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
