Hi!

As a part of my masters degree in Networking and Systems
administration at Oslo university College, some fellow students and I
are conducting an experiment about terminal servers. We are trying to
specify the bottlenecks of a setup with any given hardware. At present
we are using a p4 2.4 with 1gb ram and a pata 80gb hd running
edubuntu. We were thinking about doing virtual terminals through
vmware but it seems the terminal server and vmware aren't very willing
to work together. We're getting an error about vttty1 which we havnt
been able to figure out. The question is this, when we have limited
hardware to run terminals, how do we benchmark the server? and how do
we find the bottlenecks? If anyone has some experience or knows about
some good tools we can use for this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Ingard
