i tried before to install ltsp using synaptic. when i rebooted my system, for some reason, it came up with ltsp login though i havent configured anything. so i uninstalled it.

right now, i am trying to configure the standard ltsp install.

im just wondering why i have this two dhcpd.conf files. the /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf must have came from the previous install of ltsp (mentioned above).

i tried to delete /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf, dhcp broke. when i make changes to /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf, dhcp recognizes. so which is which?

If you remove the /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf file, I'm pretty sure it will then look in /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf.

Take a look at the startup script in /etc/inetd. It contains the logic for figuring out where the config file is.

Jim.

thanks!

hi!

on ubuntu you will find 2 dhcpd.conf file, one in /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf
and /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf, which one are you supposed to tinker with?

If you have 2 dhcpd.conf files, that means you've installed the
ltsp-server-standalone package.

So, if that's the case, which LTSP are you trying to configure?
The Standard LTSP, or the Ubuntu version of LTSP?
