It seems that the $DISPLAY stuff cannot be emphasized enough. Which might
also explain why LBUS isn't automatically starting in the terminal I'm
working on right now.
Just did another test (I'm documenting what I did to installa LTSP 4.2 +
local media access), and it seems that the $DISPLAY stuff isn't that
important.
hostname is 'xxx'
$DISPLAY 'xxx.domain'
and local media still works just fine.

I'm still confused, but happy, because we don't need to alter anything.
BTW: regarding fuse. Because of the number of users we might have problems
adding every user to the fuse group. And I just noticed that by default
/dev/fuse is group owned by root with permissions '666' (I changed it by
hand acording to Step 8), is there any reason not to leave it writable and
readable for everybody?
