This could be part of the problem.

I can mount fine for the first user, and nothing for the next users.

Just tested part 10 again, same result as above for a user with $HOME on
local disk.

OK, so that's not it.

I think lbussd runs fine, it just does not get any information from the
terminal.

On the lbus_event_handler.sh, there is no interaction with lbussd, because
lbus_event_handler.sh is called from within lbussd.

Well, how about putting an "echo $* >> /tmp/lbus_eh.out" at the
beginning of the lbus_event_handler script, and see what command line
parameters we're being passed?

I don't think that would help, I've tried it comes out as

removeall
add block readwrite 0 Floppy
add block readonly 0 K3b data project
remove block readonly 0 K3b data project
add block Removable_Device_244_Mb 244 Removable Device (244Mb)
remove block Removable_Device_244_Mb 244 Removable Device (244Mb)
removeall

and similar for the devices that it detects

But we already know that lbus_event_handler.sh is working fine ()not counting part 10). Regarding ñthe missing devices for later users the interesting part would be the communication between lbussd and the terminal.

One thing I have seen some times (but definitely not always) is that lbucd dies on the terminal.

I wrote an entry about it ealier, see
