With some minor twiddling (mount /home; openssh-server; and SCREEN_01=shell)
I have local apps running on Ubuntu Dapper, installed with the
ltsp-standalone-server script method. For authentication, however, I had to
copy over passwd/shadow/groups rather than use nis. I installed nis on both
server and /opt/ltsp/i386 (via chroot, apt-get). NIS seems to be working
properly on the server, but from the client, ypbind hangs.

Can someone please help with suggestions on how to configure my ltsp clients
to use nis? I've followed all the normal HOWTO stuff, but may have missed
something related to portmapper or other services.

Thanks,
John
