Please strongly consider RHEL4 or CentOS 4.4 instead of FC5. FC5 will be
obsolete in less than 6 months time, Fedora is a very poor choice for a
stable server (stable referring to updates needed, not system crashes).

Definitely get rid of the coax, it's limiting you to 10mb half duplex on
that segment. Consider the gb ethernet if your budget will allow but
unless you can afford the switch, proper quality wiring and GB NICs (along
with clients that can achieve gb speeds) you may not get all the benefits
of GB ethernet.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I would consider AMD64 hardware an excellent
choice for you. A dual processor/dual core Opteron server would be very
nice indeed and relatively cheap while providing good I/O and reliability.
What I was warning you about is x86_64 Linux. While it performs very
well, a lot of proprietary software like the Macromedia Flash plugin and
Sun Java web browser plugin *won't work*. Evaluate your software needs
before deploying x86_64 and if the proprietary software isn't there, use
an i386 32-bit distro instead and plan on eventually upgrading to x86_64.
