If these units have a CD drive, download a live CD linux distro like 
Knoppix and boot it (a thumb drive may also work).  Often Knoppix can 
autodetect hardware much better than any distro I have used (although 
the tradeoff is that it takes a longer time to boot).  Once it has 
booted, if it has detected the audio you can use lsmod to figure out 
which modules it used.  It may even have the module options in the dmesg 
log (run dmesg | more to look at this log).  Then put those modules in 
your lts.conf (SOUND_MODULE_01=foo).
