Hi list,

- On SuSE10.1/LTSP4.2u4 we've got a funny sound problem. We don't want sound
in Linux, so in lts.conf we do: SOUND_DAEMON = "rdp", which as the wiki
explains allows the modules but not the daemon to load.

- Thus the line SCREEN_02 = rdesktop -r sound:local IP-OF-WINDOWSBOX works
just fine. Windows (a MS2003 terminal server) plays sound beautfully on the
client.

- but that's when we hit the ctrl-alt-f2 and switches entirely to a
win-desktop.

- PROBLEM: if from within a Linux client session, one opens up a shell and
gives "rdesktop -some-paramters -r sound:local IP-OF-WINBOX" then there is no
sound from that windows session. It doesn't matter if it's a desktop session
or just an application (with -s).
- and, the linuxserver records an error in the shell from which the
win-session was opened: "/dev/dsp: No such file or directory"

Any ideas?
