of course, the shutdown command or the graphical-similar one would shut
down the server and this is not permitted to a terminal: remember that
almost every action you do is made in the server machine and not on
your laptop... it's requested a long power button hit, as desktop terminals. quark Joe Auerbach ha scritto: Chiacchiera con i tuoi amici in tempo reale! http://it.yahoo.com/mail_it/foot/*http://it.messenger.yahoo.comhmm . . . ltsp shouldn't let you shut down, I think. shut down would shut down the server, not the machine. but a hard poweroff should still work. Are you sure you don't need to hold the power button longer? That's how mine works.steve downes wrote:Err, might sound a bit trivial but just got my laptop to boot into my ltsp server using its inbuilt PXE config. It won't accept a shutdown or halt command & there is nothing in the bios that allows the push button to function as an off button as well as an on. CTRL ALT DEL doesn't work either. How do I shut the machine down ( without disconnecting the power supply & the battery) The machine is a Thinkpad T23 Sitting & waiting for your reply :-) Steve ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
