OK, now we're getting somewhere.  There are a couple of reasons for slow 
performance in a thin client application, but you'll need to run at 
least a basic performance measurement utility.  I mentioned xosview 
before, because it is small, launches quickly, and provides almost all 
the information you will need in about a 200x200 box.  A google search 
indicates that SuSe 9.1 has this package available; launch it on the 
server with the options I provided earlier in the thread (place the 
window next to Firefox while running the XUL app).  Otherwise, try to 
find a utility or utilities that show CPU usage on the server, memory 
usage on the server, disk activity on the server, and total ethernet 
traffic on the server.

Can you run the application with a monitor utility and report back what 
you see?
