Thanks for that Verner, are there other ways of doing this avoiding the MS 2003
terminal server licences or am I stuck with the wretched stuff because I need
to run a windows application? I have tried to run the wretched thing in WINE
and it doesn't want to play.

You could do that, it would work provided that you've got some potent
hardware, lots of memory and so.
But, given that, it would work just fine.

On your clients linux desktop with an icon starting "rdesktop" with lots of
parameters, or
doing a SCREEN_01 = "rdesktop" ..lots of parameters... - in
your /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf file will save your day.

This is an example line from one of my lts.conf's:

SCREEN_01 = "rdesktop -r disk:drives=/Drives -r sound:local -k da -a
15 -N -s "C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe" 172.16.3.1"

Check what "man rdesktop" says.

Get a free VMware server, install it in the belly of your LTSP server, install
some MS-Windows 2003 terminal server virtualized in that VMware instance. And
off you go.
