we use something like this on the DHCP server

host terminal-name {
         hardware ethernet XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX;
         fixed-address terminal-IP-number;
         option host-name "terminal-name";
         option root-path "LTSP-bootserver-IP-number:/opt/ltsp-4.2.4/i386";
         filename        "lts/2.6.17.8-ltsp-1/pxelinux.0";
         next-server     LTSP-bootserver-IP-number;
}

it works just fine
