Not really sure. I think they're redundant now as rather than the client make a startx call or similar and then use XDMCP to forward the X session, the session is forwarded via an ssh tunnel. I'm fairly new to ltsp myself. I just found I didn't need an lts.conf at all to change to other consoles on the client using the alt+ctrl +function key method. BTW, I've since discovered that the first console (alt+ctrl+F1) is the one that starts the ldm session so you can't logon there. You need alt +ctrl+(any other function key except F7 which is the ldm session). I was shooting from the hip a bit with my first reply.
