Sounds like some process is still accessing the drive and therefore the system sees it as "busy". In that state, the eject button is over-ridden. You can try a few things. Make sure that konqueror, nautilus or whatever are definitely not displaying the drive, nor should you be logged into its folder (eg., /media/cdrom) in a terminal session; Make sure all processes that once accessed the drive (eg, k3b) are truly dead do a "ps aux" to list running processes; from a terminal session issue the command "eject /dev/hdc" where you replace /hdc with your own drive's designation - you may have to do this as root if you don't have sufficient user permissions; and, finally there is the one sure-fire way to tackle the problem: all drives have a small hole in them, maybe near the eject button, and you simply poke something long and thin in there (a bent paper clip is perfect) until you release the latch that holds the drive door closed - it's that simple :-) HTH Gavin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
