This is on the network side.

    * 10/100 Switch
    * 10/100 nic on the server
    * 10/100 nic in the thin client

I'll have to look at "iftop". I don't think I've ever used it before.

Is it okay to use the 8 port Linksys gigabit switch? I'm not sure if I 
need gigabit but if I do 8 ports is all I need.
