Please, I'm not try to be offensive, just asking. Why Gentoo? Why LTSP 4.x? I have used LTSP 4.x first with SuSE 9.2 and then Ubuntu 5.10/6.06. Now I have seen (I have written howto's in finnish) how easy LTSP 5 is with Ubuntu 7.10 or Edubuntu 7.10 Classroom Server. I just asking - is there some reason for Gentoo - you know, it is same Linux, Gnome, KDE, OpenOffice or Firefox after all? I just asking - is there some reason for LTSP 4.2 (I know, LTSP 5 don't work with Gentoo)? If this is your first shot with LTSP - try first with Ubuntu/Edubuntu 7.10 and then move back to Gentoo and LTSP 4.x if there is something you don't like. I believe you don't understand finnish, but you can always watch pictures ;-). http://wiki.ubuntu-fi.org/Ubuntu_7.10_LTSP5 http://wiki.ubuntu-fi.org/Edubuntu_7.10_Classroom_Server And I think also - it is shame, that LTSP 5 is not yet included in every distro: http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/Ltsp5Status Best Regards Asmo Koskinen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
