Hello Community, We are pleased to announce the KIWI-LTSP multiple image auto-deployment feature using AoE.
This is a first step towards what shall enable us to deploy multiple pre-built and custom images catering to varying hardware. It is quite a common issue faced in large deployments wherein multiple images need to be mapped correctly to the clients using the not-so-friendly MAC addresses along with the need to speed up booting. Though we still need to deal with MAC addresses, but in a much less error-prone and less tedious manner. Also we don't have to bother about manually serving each image over AoE any more. You may read more about this feature and try it out as outlined at : http://en.opensuse.org/LTSP/AoE http://en.opensuse.org/LTSP/AoE#Proposed_Setup_and_Configuration http://en.opensuse.org/Talk:LTSP/AoE This feature update is thanks to all the help and guidance extended by the Kiwi-LTSP team, especially Jigish Gohil (cyberorg) and his AoE implementation. As always, feedback welcome, our bug tracker is here: http://devzilla.novell.com/kiwi-ltsp/, if you need any live help drop into #ltsp (for ltsp only) or #kiwi-ltsp(for anything related to kiwi-ltsp), We'll be happy to help if around. Take care...
