Hello,

We currently have around 50 thin clients in a callcenter on a CentOS 4
/ LTSP 4.2 server.
Most of the clients are the older (larger) ones from
DisklessWorkstaion, a few are newer ones.
Everything is working fine, but I was ask if the data between the
clients and server was secure.
They are concerned about credit card information being passed in the
clear. From what I can see,
we will have to update to LTSP 5 to be able to do this. Also it looks
like I will need to change from
CentOS 4 to another Linux OS. Since I am not an expert at any of
this, I have been putting off
the upgrade. Also this is a live system, so taking it down can be a problem.

So, is upgrading from LTSP 4 to LTSP 5 the only way to get client to
server security?

What Linux OS should I use if I have to change from CentOS?
Preferably one that does not require updating all the time.

Thanks,

Bill
