Have you tried in ~/.Xsession ?


Mine's looks like this :

# lance le WM
#WINDOWMANAGER=openbox-session
WINDOWMANAGER=startxfce4
exec $WINDOWMANAGER


If remove theses lines, a default session isn't found either, and I
must select one in LDM.
