I'm using Puppet for years to manage configuration of our servers.
But this is not ltsp-specific.

Though I have e.g. my lts.conf under Puppet control this is not anything
fancy. And I don't see any sense in using Puppet on the clients. You have an
image which is centrally configured via ltsp. There is no need to add another
quite complex level of configuration control.

You can use parts of the Puppet suite (facter) for inventory purpose. But this
seems only a side effect of Puppet.
I installed ocsinventory an all machines, including the thin clients. This
seems more appropriate for me.
