You could also break down licensing costs of a Windows migration pretty
quick. Then there's the cost of losing you, your labour and expertise.
Consider also the presupposition inherent in the question "shouldn't we be
running a Windows network?".
I think if you check out pro-Windows sites like getthefacts.com, you'll
probably find some convincing arguments against the cost of retraining your
people. These same arguments could be made against switching from an
existing Linux network to something else.
If all of the above fails and somebody wants to charge ahead into changing
over, you should be able to convince level heads to make it only a partial
changeover, and then be careful about collecting metrics on the cost of
supporting your Linux labs vs the newly changed labs.
