I just finished testing that myself too :).

Thanks for testing under Windows. Good to get confirmation it works
there as well.

Great, I've updated the rockspec to copy "tests" as suggested.

Do you know if there are any plans to handle this in future?

Leaving the documentation in the main directory is convenient for
anyone not using Luarocks :).
