Well, it is present and supports HTTP, I don't understand how FreeBSD's fetch
is any better than NetBSDs ftp, but I see that you can't support any possible
download program some platform might have. You could always fall back to a
simple lua implementation ;)

You just can't expect different operating systems to behave the same way in all
cases (and I'm glad it is that way ;)
