You mean like 'subplatform'? It's do-able, but Hisham is
understandably reluctant to go into that level of OS detection.

One solution is something I proposed some time back - that you provide
a _table_ of possible directories to be searched for an external
dependency.

Otherwise, maybe it can be done by modifying the local config? Awkward
if there are many machines to be updated, of course.
