Dear all, to pay for my rant, I created a TL repository with the latest luatex binaries that can be installed on x86-64 linux.
All normal formats are automatically generated, the program names are The binaries: luatex-dev, luajittex-dev and the format programs luatex1 lualatex1 dviluatex1 dvilualatex1 These are script files (NOT links to the binaries!) that do the following: luatex-dev -progname luatex -fmtname=... "$*" With this, format creating and execution works, no further need to switch BUT WARNING!!! THere is one thing that needs to be done, due to fmtutil .. The formats are generated in TEXMFSYSVAR/web2c/luatex-dev/ The formats there need to be moved to TEXMFSYSVAR/web2c/luatex/ Another option is to link luatex-dev to luatex *BEFORE* installing the package: ln -s TEXMFSYSVAR/web2c/luatex TEXMFSYSVAR/web2c/luatex-dev After creating this symbolic (or hard) link, updates should work automatically. Binaries are currently only x64_64-linux, I might add more later. Repository is at http://www.preining.info/tlluatex-dev/ Use tlmgr -repo ... install luatex-dev or use the usual command to add another repository All the best Norbert -- PREINING Norbert http://www.preining.info Accelia Inc. + JAIST + TeX Live + Debian Developer GPG: 0x860CDC13 fp: F7D8 A928 26E3 16A1 9FA0 ACF0 6CAC A448 860C DC13
