There hasn't been a single minor edit to the wiki in weeks. Remember that wikis are supposed to be publicly editable, so anyone with some spare time and knowledge, feel free to contribute.

There are a few pages left from my "wiki spree" a month and a half or so ago that have LOTS of undefined terms on them that just need a definition written. Here's a few pages to browse that you can either elaborate on or define undefined terms and links as you see fit:

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/LinuxServiceDescriptions
*Has lots of undefined services. Many of them are common and should be fairly easy to write a description for. See the two that have been defined (Telnet and FTP I believe) for a suggested format. You should probably include links to relavant RFCs, protocol and port number, and any "gotchas" associated with the service in addition to the description.

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/IdentifyEthernetCard
*Has lots of undefined companies and networking/computing terms. Also feel free to slot your NIC in at the bottom.

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/FixPS2Ports
*I wrote this a while back and I don't think anyone ever reviewed it. Pictures would be nice too (I don't have a digital camera). Email them to me or Warren privately so we can put them on a webspace to be linked in.

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/LinuxGuides
*Has a few suggested guides that are completely unwritten. Unfortunately these can be a rather daunting thing to write, but it's nice to have your name on the first revision, right? :) Even if you can't make the whole thing, someone else can always come along and finish it for you.

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/CrapHardware
*Throw hardware you've had problems with (poor drivers, but note as such, or due to just being flakey hardware wise) here. It would probably also be a good idea to link at least the vendor name to a separate wiki page describing the company, and possibly do the same with the product too (if you really had a bad time).

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/BasicFirewallRouter
*Is a bit old and could probably use a new view on life if anyone wants to beef it up a little bit. Of course defining words is always welcome.

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/Linux
*Linux is so many things. When I went to write all those wikis back in July, I was amazed to find that there was no "Linux" page in the wiki. Feel free to contribute to this one.

<plug class="shameless">
http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/MonMothaReferenceGuide
*Anyone who has used my firewall script is encouraged to put suggestions on this page. It's a wiki and not a static HTML page for a reason. Being the writer, I often take knowledge of the behavior of a config option for granted when it really should be explained.
</plug>

http://www.mplug.org/phpwiki/index.php/MD5SUMVerification
*It may be worthwhile to put a link to what exactly an MD5 checksum is (in crypto terms, do we have any cryptologists on here? :) Also, a page describing PGP signatures (that verify authenticity back to the signer) might be a good idea too.

Got any other good ideas for a wiki? Make it! Wikis can't survive without YOU (yes, YOU)! Everything from minor spelling corrections to writing new pages that introduce new topics contributes to the wealth of information that these can hold.

Of course, nobody is at fault for the wiki stagnating. However, by the same token, it's everyone's responsibility to keep working on it. This is just a friendly reminder to people who have time that there's somethign they can do, and a shout out to the newcomers about this really cool concept.
