Alternatively by default you also have the ~username addresses. It works like this.
Create a "public_html" folder within the home directory of a user and set the following permissions. chmod 711 /home/username/ chmod 755 /home/username/public_html/ Put pages into /home/username/public_html/ then open your web browser. Use the squiggly tilde character then the username in the URL and it'll bring up that user's public_html folder. http://localhost/~username/
